Are you planning to care for a loved one in the future? Would you like to make a difference in the life of a family during the end-of-life process? Interested in volunteering for hospice? Compassus hospice is providing a 5-week course with a wealth of end-of-life information. It is free and open to the public. The course is facilitated by professionals from Compassus hospice team, who will share their experiences and expertise in a dynamic and interactive format. The curriculum will provide a foundation of end-of-life information including: • Death awareness • Hospice philosophy • Medical Aspects of Hospice • Pain and Symptom management • Terminal Diseases • The dying process • End-of-life decisions • Spirituality • Grief and Bereavement • Family Dynamics • Advanced Directives • Health and Safety • Self-care and boundaries • Volunteers’ Role in hospice The class provides valuable information for people who may be faced with caring for a loved one in the future or anyone who is interested in exploring becoming a hospice volunteer. Those who complete the 5-week course may choose to continue with additional sessions that would provide them with the specific information needed to serve as a hospice volunteer.

The class is FREE to attend, but space is limited due to proper social distancing requirements. All participants will have to wear a mask during the classes. Two different locations and classes are currently taking registration: Arbor Vitae – 1571 N. Hwy 51, Suite C Friday’s from July 16 – August 13 From 9:30 am – 12 noon Rhinelander – 111 E. Davenport, Suite 101 Wednesday’s from July 14 – August 11 From 9:30 am – 12 noon
