August Mindfulness: Working with a Scattered Mind

Ascension Koller Behavioral Health offers monthly Mindfulness and Meditation programs in Rhinelander that are free to anyone in the community.

“Working with a Scattered Mind” is the featured program for August and will be offered on Tuesday, August 20 from 1-2:30 p.m., at Ascension Koller Behavioral Health, 1020 Kabel Avenue in the 2nd floor conference room.  Advanced registration is not required.

“Whether we are always attention challenged or occasionally, this program will feature techniques to sharpen your own attention or assist those around you,” said Kathy Mitchell, MA, of Ascension Koller Behavioral Health.

Ascension Koller Behavioral Health also offers the Riverside Meditation Group. In August, the Riverside Meditation Group will be held on Thursday, August 8 and 22 from 5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m.  

Riverside Meditation Group is an opportunity for anyone with a meditation practice to have regular group support. There are two twenty-minute seated meditations with either walking meditation or Qigong in between. The meditation model is silent and still with occasional guided meditations.  At the end a short talk focusing on enhancing skills of mindfulness and meditation.  The Riverside Meditation Group draws from western psychological mindfulness teachings, philosophy, literature, and poetry.
